BRIEF INFORMATION
International Foundation for
Business and Cultural Cooperation with the Countries of Africa and Asia (ADEKS
International) is a successor of the Soviet Association of Friendship Societies
with Peoples of Africa – SADNA (founded in 1959) and then Association for
Business and Cultural Cooperation with the Countries of Africa (ADEKS), being
functioned till now. For ten years it promotes active public, business and
cultural ties with practically all the states of Africa, Near and Middle East
and in the recent years – also with a number of the Asian countries. According to its Charter the main aim of ADEKS International is a
promotion of business, scientific, public, political and cultural ties of
Russia, its regions with the countries of Africa and Asia. Foundation does not
enjoy a financial support of the Russian Government and forms its financial
base solely with membership, philanthropic and target fees as well as with its
external economic activity. In particular, the Foundation offers its intermediary services,
organizational, information and consultative support. It forms a data base on
all the questions of trade and economic cooperation of the RF with African and
Asian states, organizes exhibitions/sales, forums, congresses,
business-seminars for Russian, African and Asian producers of goods, prepares
information and analytic materials and papers. For instance, starting September
2001 together with the Institute for African Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences,
it resumes in an electronic version a publication of the unique in Russia and
in CIS monthly periodical of business information “ African and Asian Markets”
with supplements. It is planned to publish new editions of guides for
businessmen on Nigeria, South Africa, Guinea, Uganda, Kenya, Congo, Namibia and
other countries, circulated in 1996-1997. Foundation has partnership relations with non-governmental and state
bodies, government and private enterprises and their amalgamations in the
countries of the servable region, comprising since 1959 not only the African
continent, but the countries of Near and Middle East and Asia, as well. These
organizations include associations and unions of the Soviet and Russian
Universities graduates; agricultural and commercial chambers; centers for
promotion of foreign investments; ministries and departments; state and private
industrial and commercial enterprises; associations of manufacturers. In a list of the Foundation co-founders you can find such organizations
as: ITAR-TASS, ”Kostromatrubinvest Ltd.”, “InterBusiness Design Bureau”, a
manufacturer of small size machines “Way Industry”, “MI Helicopters“,
“Multitours” Tourist Company, Artisans Chamber of Saint – Petersburg and a number of other organizations and
